Penang Bridge

The Penang Bridge was officially opened by the then prime minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri (Now Tun) Dr Mahathir Mohamad. At 13.5km in length, the bridge is the second-longest bridge in Malaysia and the fifth-longest in Southeast Asia by total length, with a length over water of 8.4 kilometres. It was officially opened to traffic on 15 September 1985.
